Super Trustees Australia (STA) has appointed Foundation Director Stephen Glenfield as Chief Executive Officer, reflecting the organisation’s continued growth and the expansion of its executive leadership.

Mr Glenfield has served as a Foundation Director of Super Trustees Australia since its establishment and assumed executive leadership in June of this year. He will now lead the organisation as Chief Executive Officer as it enters its next phase of growth.

STA Chair James Shipton said the appointment reflected both Mr Glenfield’s exceptional experience and the Board’s confidence in the organisation’s future.

“Stephen is one of Australia’s most experienced governance and financial services leaders. Throughout his career he has helped shape the standards that underpin Australia’s superannuation and financial advice sectors, and he has demonstrated thoughtful, principled leadership for Super Trustees Australia since its establishment.

“As a Foundation Director, Stephen has played a central role in shaping the organisation’s strategy and governance. His appointment as Chief Executive Officer reflects the Board’s confidence in his leadership and our ambition for the next phase of Super Trustees Australia’s growth.”

Before joining Super Trustees Australia, Mr Glenfield held senior leadership positions with the Australian Prudential Regulation Authority, including General Manager and Chair of APRA’s Superannuation Industry Group. He also served as Chief Executive Officer of the Financial Adviser Standards and Ethics Authority, where he led the implementation of professional and ethical standards across Australia’s financial advice profession.

Mr Glenfield said STA remained focused on delivering independent trustee services to Australia’s superannuation sector, helping funds navigate increasingly complex governance and regulatory obligations.

“Super Trustees Australia was established to strengthen governance and provide high quality independent trustee services for clients and their members.

“Having spent much of my career helping shape Australia’s prudential and governance framework, it’s a privilege to now work directly with funds and their boards as they respond to an increasingly complex regulatory environment.

“As we continue to grow, our focus remains on helping clients navigate with independence, integrity and practical expertise. I am excited to lead the organisation into its next chapter.”
